The Lions team has been such a positive experience for three of my daughters. This is their sixth year with the team. They have made very
close friends, traveled as far as Florida, shared laughter, tears and memories to last a lifetime

Victory has become such a part of our lives....it's hard to remember when Lauren wasn't a Lion! I love lots of things about the program.
Meeting new families, making new friends, baking cookies for the team, traveling to the competitions and watching Lauren do what she really
loves to do. What I love most about it, is that I get to spend precious time with my daughter. Special times for just the two of us that I'll
cherish forever. She has one more year before she heads off to college and I will miss being the time spent with her and being part of the
Lions when she's gone. It's a wonderful environment with girls and parents who truly care about each other and support each other through
the ups and downs of competitive cheerleading. It's been wonderful to bring families together from different schools and communities and
see them all compete as Lions. I still get nervous every time Lauren takes the floor! She's learned a lot and grown a lot, not just as a
cheerleader, but as a person....and I attribute many of those lessons to the values consistently taught and reinforced at Victory. Go Lions!
Tammy Alsene
Mother of Lauren Alsene - Seniors - 5th year
This is my final year with the Lions and having been a member for so long it is hard to picture my life without Victory being a huge part of it.
Not only has Victory helped me develop as an athlete, it has helped me to develop as a person. Since joining Victory my confidence has
increased and I have learned the importance of hard work, commitment, and determination. These qualities have been extremely important
in my cheerleading career, and I am confident they will continue to help me to succeed in the future. Everyone involved with the Lions will
compare this program to a family and it couldn’t be more true. I have made so many memories over the years and I am extremely grateful for
every second I have spent as a member of this family.
Beth Crumrine - Seniors - 6th year
Victory Academy has been a part of my life for 5 years now, and I couldn't imagine myself without it. I have learned so many things from life
lessons to tumbling passes, that I know I would not be the same person if it was not a part of my life. The girls on this team are a part of my
family, and our success is based on our teamwork, and dedication to the program and each other. Lions has taken me to so many places,
doing what I love, and proven to me that hard work is what gets you to success. If there is one thing I learned most from my time at Victory, is
it to have confidence in myself. The coaches actually care to see you improve not just for the team, but for you as a person. They want you
to know that you can do anything you are willing to work hard for, and they have the experience and knowledge to help you get things just
right. I look forward to finishing out another great season! Make it Happen!

Joining Lions is the best thing I have ever done! Lions has changed my life so much. It keeps me in shape and active. It is fun but it takes a
lot of work and confidence. You have to trust in your self and the coaches. I really like how Lions has challenged me to things I thought I
never could do. One of the best parts of Lions is the people. The coaches are amazing! They are always encouraging you to try new things
and they teach you so much not only about cheer but how to work together with others and make every one a friend. We could not do what
we do with out them! I also adore my teammates. Lions have brought me together with amazing friends. We trust each other a lot. And have
had some great times. Then there are the parents. All of the parents are so supportive of all of us. They make cheerleading so much better.
All of these people are very supportive and helpful to Lions. All of these awesome people are not only friends, but family. They are
magnificent. Practices are fabulous. Sometimes they can be rough, but you never leave there without learning something new. Then there
are competitions, where you show tons of people the amazing stuff you have practiced for so long. It is great to walk on to that competition
floor with the bright lights, the screaming fans, loud music, and that adrenalin rush. The memories you create here are unforgettable. They
will last a lifetime. Win or lose we are a family, and we are all together doing this amazing sport because we love it. I have learned many new
things and experienced things most people will never experience. I would hope everyone would get to experience something as marvelous as
Lions. I can’t see me doing anything besides cheer. I plan to keep on with Lions for as long as I can. Cheer is what I love to do. It is my life.♥
Kailee Rutledge -Seniors - 5th year
This is Sarah's fifth year as a Lion's Cheerleader and over the years she has development friendships, sportsmanship and talent. She is
learning skills that will stay with her for a lifetime and I couldn't be more proud of the dedication and hard work she has exhibited over the
last five years!
The Lion's are not just a team they are a family. These girls have learned to encourage, support and challenge each other with respect and
love. Girls will be girls but let one of them get down or lose confidence and the rest rally to the rescue! This wouldn't happen if it weren't for
the values of Victory Academy and their coaches. Almost anyone can teach sports but it takes leadership and dedication to teach
sportsmanship and respect to over 60 girls' year in and year out.
It's a big commitment from the cheerleaders, coaches and the parents but if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't miss it for the world! I have
had opportunities to share mother/daughter time that I will cherish forever.

We have enjoyed seeing our daughter dedicate herself and really focus to being the best she can in cheer. She has developed socially and
made some great friends. She has learned how to (when winning or losing) push, encourage, and comfort her friends thus learning the true
meaning of teamwork. It is very nice to see my daughter sit with a friend who is hurt to just console her or to hear her tell another friend she
really can do a tumbling pass when she thinks she can't, and at the same time, it is great to hear her teammates return these gestures when
Courtney is in need. We have also felt that the Lions stand out above other programs due to the overwhelming support from not just within
our daughter's particular team, but of all the teams. Older and younger members of the program are friendly, supportive, and show true
LIONS SPIRIT! Last, it has been terrific to develop our own friendships with other Lions Parents and we really are (winning or losing) the
CRAZIEST FANS!!!

I really enjoy the wonderful coaches and their time and dedication to the team. I enjoy meeting new girls and making great friendships and
working as a team. It has been fun to push myself and see how much I can do in tumbling and to learn all the new stunts. It is nice to
develop friendships and learn to trust each other and put it all together and encourage each other to be #1! Go LIONS!!!
Courtney Feazel - Youth Black - 3rd year
I enjoy Lions because I have learned so much throughout the years and I have made so many wonderful friends. Competing is one of my
favorite parts because it makes me happy just to be out on the floor doing what I love. I have been with Lions for so many years that it has
become my life and I love that I have experienced it for so long. The coaches, kids and their families are great and I can definitely say that
they have become my second family.
Chelsea Schumacher - Seniors - 6th year
My daughter, Sarah, has been with the Lions for only a few months, but we have had a great experience so far. The girls have been very
nice to my daughter and have welcomed her, encouraged her and made her feel a part of the team from day 1. It's a lot of hard work and
takes a real commitment--but that's what it takes to be the best. The coach, Jen, is very experienced and organized and I have been
impressed by entire program.

Deciding to cheer at Victory was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It helps me stay physically active while doing what I love, and
has allowed me to meet great teammates, coaches, and friends that I will always keep close to my heart. I couldn’t picture myself doing
anything else. As I look back 3 years ago, I see how far I have come, thanks to my coaches encouraging me and teaching me to keep trying
new things. My favorite memory was getting first place at my first competition. Cheering on Lions is my life, and I love it.
Emily Harris - Seniors - 3rd year
I enjoy Lions because all the girls are very caring and you make so many friends. The coaches are always so nice and encouraging and
push you to always do your best. I've improved so much from the first time I came to the gym completely in tears and afraid, to now, where I
can hardly wait for the practices, and I always want to be in the gym . I love competitions, just being out on the floor and all the lights shinning
down, doing what I love. It's amazing. I never would have thought I could have this many people caring about me, or that I could care about
this many people. Everyone here is so nice, including the parents. I love seeing my mom making friends and enjoying herself while I'm doing
the same. Everyone is very accepting of others, and I would never want to leave here, not even for a second, I love lions so much!
Cathleen Paxton - Juniors and Seniors - 3rd year
Being a part of the Victory Academy Lions program has changed our lives. We have two daughters involved in the program. Kailee is in her
5th year and Leighanna competed for two years (from the age of 3) and just took this year off to work on her tumbling. Since joining the
Lions in 2003 we all have made countless friends. We transferred to Bloomington in 2000 but had not found a program or activity that
involved our whole family in the way that Victory Academy cheerleading does. We enjoy the company of the other parents and their
children. And, we are so happy to have our children belong to this group of dedicated athletes; girls with similar interests, girls with
character, girls absolutely interested in doing their best. Kailee has learned a lot about commitment; not just a commitment to the sport or to
herself but to her teammates. As a family, we don't take this commitment lightly and know that Kailee has learned a valuable lesson in that
there is no "bench" or "second string" in cheerleading. She gives it her all, every day, every time.
We were pleased with the values that are at the core of Victory Academy and couldn't be more pleased with the coaching staff for the Lions.
All of the coaches genuinely love cheerleading and take pride in developing the girls into the best athletes they can be. But winning isn't our
only goal. We have been complimented numerous times by cheerleaders and parents we have met from other gyms that tell us how polite
our girls are and how they are always an example of good sportsmanship. When our daughters are no longer competing in this sport and
they have long packed away their trophies, ribbons, and t-shirts the character they have built and the values they have learned will carry
through in everything they do. Now, that's something to cheer about!
