The Star Status Program is new this year and we are very excited to implement it into our teams for this season.  This page is meant to
inform you of exactly what it is, what purposes it serves, and to provide you with the skill checklist that will be used.

Program Overview
The United States All Star Federation (USASF) has set guidelines of what tumbling skills can be performed in each level, 1-5.  We have
set up a chart reflecting those guidelines and will give each athlete a "Star Status" based on their current tumbling skills that they are
able to consistently perform completely on their own.  Each athlete will work throughout the season to achieve new skills in the natural
progressions laid out in the leveling system.

Program Purposes
It will be used to motivate our athletes to achieve new skills throughout the season so that they will continue to improve.  This program will
help to provide them with specific goals and skills to work towards and reward them when they achieve those skills.  The ultimate goal is
that everyone will be able to complete the Star Status for the level at which their team competes.  Also, we hope that many athletes will
not only be able to complete the Star Status for their level, but will also be able to achieve skills above their team's level.  The level at
which each team competes will be decided by the coaching staff based on the highest level of skills that can be performed by the majority
of the team.

Star Status will also be used as the criteria for our Punch Card Tumbling Sessions.  Those who have yet to complete all of the skills for
their team's level will be required to attend these extra tumbling sessions.

The Star Status Skill Checklist was also utilized during evaluations this year.  The coaching staff assessed each athlete's current tumbling
skills and assigned them a level, 1-5.  This, along with other factors, helped the staff in developing the best possible teams for the
season with the goal in mind that each team be successful and extremely competitive in their division and level.

Skill Achievement
When an athlete can successfully execute a skill completely on their own and do so consistently, they have gained that skill and it will be
marked on the Star Status board.  The boards will be posted inside the gym, one for each team, and will have each athlete's name, as
well as all of the tumbling skills for all of the levels.  This will serve as a constant reminder to each of them of the new skills they can gain
through hard work and determination.

Each month, we will post all of the new skills that have been gained by each individual athlete on our website.  Those who successfully
complete an entire Star Status level will receive recognition on the bulletin board at the gym as well.

Program Start Date
Star Status boards will be posted in the gym by the end of May.  At that time, each athlete will receive their current Star Status based on
the skills that they successfully completed at evaluations and any new skills that they have obtained since.  Each athlete's Star Status will
be based on the highest level in which they have completed at least half of the skills for that level.  If they still have skills to gain within
their team
's level, they will start coming to Punch Card Tumbling Sessions in June.
